    We are seeking a Research Analyst to support our research capabilities, specifically serving as a strategic thought partner and source for due diligence research and investment analysis on for potential investments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communications, and implementation capabilities and will be entrepreneurial in how they approach their responsibilities by making process improvements for research needs that magnify the work of those they support.     Your Responsibilities Include

     

    • Work collaboratively with Social Investment Officers by designing and executing research plans of varying depth to investigate investment opportunities
    • Perform rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses using data collected from research, grantee organizations, beneficiaries, and/or other stakeholders in the nonprofit sector
    • Synthesize findings, analysis, and background materials, and developing clear and compelling reports and/or presentations
    • Actively contribute to team discussions, collaborate on cross-team projects, and help develop Stand Together’s internal knowledge base 
    • Critically review academic literature to inform our understanding of key topics
    • Conduct market and competitive analysis 
    • Prepare educational materials and backgrounders in key investment areas including: at-risk youth and education, addiction and mental health, workforce development, in-prison and reentry programs, homeless and housing, and financial empowerment. 
    • Gather critical information to assess trends within the philanthropic community 

     

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring the Organization

     

    • Commitment to the purpose, values, and operating principles that inform Stand Together’s work
    • 3+ years’ experience and a BA in a relevant field preferred
    • Comfort thinking in terms of expected value and demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative analysis and synthesize findings
    • Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analyses
    • Strong understanding of classical liberalism
    • Experience with academic research appreciated 
    • Demonstrated abilities in researching, writing, and critical thinking 
    • High sense of urgency and initiative 
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
    • Ability to drive multiple projects to completion in a fast-paced environment 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
    • Highly organized, results-driven approach to completing tasks 
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
